Ilene Berns-Zare

Ilene Berns-Zare, PsyD, PCC, is a life and leadership coach, psychologist, educator, and author who helps people navigate their lives with resilience, meaning, mindfulness, and well-being. Her passion includes inspiring people to flourish in life and work by bringing mind, body, and spirit into flow with their strengths, purpose, and potential.

Ilene is the author of You’re Not Too Old and It’s Not Too Late: Weekly Inspirations for Meaning, Mindfulness and New Possibilities at Midlife and Beyond (MSI Press, 2025).

Ilene has a Doctorate in psychology, a master’s degree in human resources development, and Professional Certified Coach certification from the International Coaching Federation. Her research interests span positive psychology concepts, resilience, mindfulness, spirituality, and personal/professional development, including the joys and adventures of adulthood and growing older.

Ilene writes the monthly blog Flourish and Thrive at Psychology Today.com. She is adjunct faculty in Georgetown University’s Transformational Leadership Program and serves as a facilitator for the Wise Aging Project of the Institute of Jewish Spirituality. Ilene is a contributing author in the book Torah Without End, edited by Michael Strassfield (Ben Yehuda Press, 2022).
